Mezi is a poet, photographer, and Zen student. He lives in Vancouver, Canada, on the unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.​​​​ ​

Mezi's work appears in Canadian and U.S. literary journals, including The Malahat Review, filling Station, Plenitude Magazine and The Inflectionist Review, among others. He is the author of Medellín (2017), a chapbook of photopoetry for the benefit of refugees.​​​​
