Mezi is a poet, photographer, and Zen student. He lives in Vancouver, Canada, on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.​​​​

Mezi's work appears in literary journals in Canada, Denmark, Germany and the United States. He is the author of Medellín (2017), a chapbook of photopoetry for the benefit of refugees.​​​​
