Mezi is a poet, photographer, and Zen student. He lives in Vancouver, Canada, on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.​​​​

Mezi's poems have appeared in literary journals in Canada, Denmark, Germany and the United States. His work was nominated for the Pushcart Prize and shortlisted for the Canada is Our Poem Prize.

 

Mezi is the author of Medellín (2017), a chapbook of photopoetry for the benefit of refugees.​​​​
